Lighter-coloured pitangas taste pleasantly fruity-sour, dark fruits are much more acidic and slightly bitter.Application:Due to its thin skin, the pitanga is rarely exported. The fruits, which are very soft once ripe, are eaten raw as fresh fruit but are also excellently suited for making jams, drinks OR even for preparing spicy chutneys.It contains 2-3 times more lycopene than a tomato! !
