Self-aligning bearings accommodate misalignment better than any other bearing andruns smoothly, even where oscillation occurs. High-speed performance and an unparalleledspeed range are produced as a result of having the lowest start up andoperational friction of any rotary bearing. Due to the low friction and reducedmaintenance requirements, republication intervals are lengthened, whichkeeps the bearing running efficiently.Double row self-aligning bearings have a sphere raceway in the outer ringand a double raceway in the inner ring. This feature gives the bearings theirself-aligning property, permitting angular misalignment of the shaft relativeto the housing. They are therefore particularly suitable for applications where misalignment can arise from errors in mounting or from shaft deflection.Double row self-aligning bearings are mainly used to carry radial loads andlight axial loads, but can`t carry pure axial loads.
