Arya Emerald is an extremely high quality green tea with a new quality standard for Indian green tea and rivals the finest China greens in both leaf quality and liquor. A certified organic tea, it has a floral aromatic flavour with subtle pear / white grape taste. One can taste the distinct Darjeeling flavour in this tea, even though it is very much an excellent green. It`s delicate flavours, beautiful light amber cup color-one of the best choices for tea conneciours across the world.Arya Tea Estate, previously known as `Sidrapong`, christened by a Buddhist Monk in early 19th Century. This garden was established by a team of Buddhist Monks who developed and cultured different varieties of Chinese seeds. Since ancient times these Monks practiced Ayurvedic Medical Science and the garden till date preserves the house in which they used to live. In the Hindu language `Arya` also means respectable and best. Arya Tea Garden is located in the periphery of Darjeeling Town and its plantation starts at an altitude of 1820 meters spreading down to 900 meters with an average of 150 meters. It has just over 125 hectares under tea plantation and produces around 90 tons annually. This Garden produces some of the finest teas in Darjeeling, specially during the peak quality first and second flush periods. Arya Estate is now following all measures and has turned under control of Institute Fur Marktokologie, Switzerland and has been certified fully organic in March 2003.
