A barrel is turned at a rate of five revolutions per minute resulting in ten falls per minute. The sample falls from a heightof 500mm on to a steel plate that is 3mm thickand backed by 19mm thick hardwood. The number of falls is set by the user in accordance to the standard they are meeting.
