Perhaps, you have never heard it before, or recalled when you found a pair of mottled clogs inside Grandma`s antique cupboard. But with today`s hustling and bustling lifestyles, that once familiar sound is gone, encountered only in the recollection of the youth. In the village of Pai-Mi, however, pieces of billet are sawn, hacked, chiseled and shaped into clogs. They are then varnished, drawn and colored. Finally, sculptured leather fastening loops are thumbtacked to them. Each pair of finished clogs inherits the affection and efforts of the master craftsman. Inspired by simple ideas, the Village creates colorfully painted clogs. With brief strokes, it skillfully depicts the originality of life onto every piece of clogs. It not only enhances the image and aesthetic value of clogs but also preserves the clogs making industry.
