Software Academi2d

Academi2d is a semiconductor device modelling and circuit simulation program for the Microsoft R Windows R platform. With Academi2d you can create complex semiconductor device geometries in minutes and build sophisticated circuit models with the minimum of effort in a powerful, yet easy to use TCAD environment. With access to the full range of device physics (including electro-thermal modelling), Academi2d provides a reliable and cost effective way to evaluate the performance and characteristics of most semiconductor devices before committing to fabrication. We all know the frustration of long lead times in the design of new semiconductor devices, but adequate R&D is critical if a product is to be robust enough to succeed in today s market place. Speeding up the early design loops by using modelling techniques instead of build is an obvious way of saving both time and money. Several commercial software products for semiconductor device modelling have been available for a number of years, but for one off designs within small companies, the cost can sometimes be prohibitive. Now help is at hand with the Academi2d Semiconductor device modelling and circuit simulation environment. Developed as a research tool over the past 20 years at the University of Wales, Swansea, Academi2d has been critical to the delivery of a number of high profile European R&D projects.
