Italian winery. established in 1980 in Sancipirello, 30 km south of Palermo, Sicily, specializes in producing and distributing high quality wines from grapes made from the company`s estates, combining authenticity and international appeal.The company owns three wineries: in Sicily - Sancipirello (North-West), in Puglia - San Pietro Vernotico (Salento Area) and in Tunisia-Grombalia (Nabeul district).In Sicily, it has an establishment of 25.000 mq, a bottling plant of 12.000 bottles per hour and 4.000 barriques of French and American manufacture.The Estates in Sicily are: Ginestra (100 Ha in Monreale DOC area) and Campofiorito (274 Ha near Corleone).Since 2005 Calatrasi has a new estate of a 150 Ha vineyard located in Mazara.The vineyards of Calatrasi are cultivated with Nero d`Avola, Syrah, Chardonnay, Catarratto, Grillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier; moreover, it has long term contract vineyards (600 Ha) of Catarratto, Grillo, Nero d`Avola and Sangiovese.The company has a winery in Puglia and, starting in 2005, with 240 Ha of vineyards, it will be ready to produce Primitivo grapes in order to provide the fruit for wines of high quality made for the company`s estates wine portfolio.Finally, the estate in Tunisia, named Domaine Neferis, is located between Tunis and Hammamet. Domaine Neferis has 200 Ha of vineyards (cultivated with Carignan, Syrah, Cinsault, Chardonnay and Grenache). The view from the old Chateau provides a stunning panorama of the surrounding vineyards and mountains.At the winery, a team of a highly skilled wine maker and New World agronomists combines the advanced technology and years of wine-making experience to produce wines expressing the aromas and flavours of all the company`s estates.The portfolio product of the winery is composed of 8 Families (Super Sicilians, Single vineyard, Terre di Ginestra, Allora, Selian, D`istinto, Accademia del Sole and Terrale).They produce more then 28 wines; some of these are white, others are red and rose.The wines are made with the most important indigenous and international varieties used to make wines unique for their colours, flavours and aromas.During the last few years the company has significantly increased production capacity.
