With a JBOD (Just A Bunch Of Disk) mode: Combining multiple physical disk drives into a single virtual one. As the name implies, 2 to 4 disks can be merely concatenated together, end to beginning, so they appear to be a single large disk. For example, it used to turn several odd-sized drives into one useful drive.
