Yoshine Technology Co., Ltd. is pleased to introduce the World s Best Production Gyrocopter: The Explorer ! The development of the Explorer came from the desire to produce an ultralight and truly stable gyrocopter that could be operated from short or unimproved fields as a truly Short Take Off & Landing (STOL) gyrocopter. This was accomplished with the Centerline Thrust concept. Centerline Thrust means instead of having thrust over drag, as do all other gyrocopters, the thrust line runs through the accumulative drag and center of gravity of the aircraft. This virtually eliminates Pilot Induced Oscillation (PIO), normally caused when the aircraft encounters a sudden updraft. The Explorer has a tall tail and the generous horizontal stabilizers greatly enhance the stability of the aircraft by adding to the pitch dampening of the airframe. The Explorer has been proven to be stable at indicated airspeeds greater than 100mph. With sufficient training and practice the average pilot could expect to take off in less than one hundred (100) feet However, the key advantage that the Explorer has over others is safety. The Explorer is a high performance gyrocopter. But unlike helicopters, the Explorer is in autorotation all the time. Once takeoff, the Explorer will never stall.
