1. History of the productFlorAvix is a probiotic and has been developed to support the intestinal gut flora of fast growing broilers and high productive layers.2. Claims of the productFlorAvix reduces the number of E. Coli infections in day old chicks, in part due to the quick installation of the dominating lactic acid bacteria gut flora.In adult poultry FlorAvix maintains a healthy and balanced gut flora, which leads to decreased use of the so-called intestinal antibiotics.When using FlorAvix, one can expect a measurable positive impact on feed conversion, litter quality, and thus production.3. Efficacy of the productField trials with FlorAvix showed lower mortality rates at start up (first week), higher weights at 7 days, and less use of antibiotics during production.4. Use of the productFlorAvix can be used in day old chicks as well as in adult poultry.In day old chicks FlorAvix is to be used at 2.5L per 1000L during 3-4 days.In adult poultry FlorAvix is to be used at 1 to 1.5L per 1000L during 24 to 48 hours,1 or 2 times a week, up to 4 weeks of age.5. Mode of actionFirstly, due to its high content ( 109 cfu/ml of reconstituted solution) of living lactic acid producing bacteria, FlorAvix actively goes into competition with pathogenic bacteria.Secondly, by producing high levels of antibacterials like lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide and other bacteriocines, FlorAvix creates a rather hostile environment for all kind of pathogens.6. Product benefits & superiority over competing products.The galenic form of FlorAvix is responsible for its very long shelf life (in its outer package up to 2 years).In contrast with competing products, FlorAvix will never be administered before 100% of the microbial population has gain the active status, because of the presence of a PH indicator which will turn the solution to its ready-to-use colour, yellow.This enables optimal use of FlorAvix as a probiotic, FlorAvix will never be administrated when not 100% ready.7. Legal statusIn the regulation Nr.1831/2003 of the European Parliament and of the counsel of 22 September 2003 on additives for use in animal nutrition, FlorAvix belongs to Group 4: Category zoo technical additives, functional group 4b: Gut-flora stabilising micro-organisms or other chemically defined substances, which when fed to animals, have a positive effect on the gut flora.FlorAvix has been approved for sale in Belgium and has received a Health certificate and a Free for sale certificate for export.
