Usually a doctor measures blood pressure by reading the mercury sphygmomanometer while marking the first and last sound, which is get from a stethoscope, of heart beats conducted by brachial arteries. The method is well known as korotkoff method. Due to the difficulties of computizing the above method, other brands of electric pressure monitors are using oscillometry method which is relatively easy to computerize.
