Gesing Group Sdn Bhd collaborated with SASSO (a French company) and adopted Good Animal Husbandry Practice (GAHP) to produce a broiler breed that is GESING NAKED NECK CHICKEN. These farms, by Gesing Group Sdn Bhd in Johor, are accredited by Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) and Veterinary Services Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Perkhidmatam Haiwan [JPH]). Gesing Group Sdn Bhd has been in broiler production for the past 20 years and has gained a reputation on being a quality red broiler producer with continuous improvements.
Good Animal Husbandry Practice (GAHP) is a wholesome approach to ensure production of healthy chicken with good meat quality and fit for human consumption. This approach includes husbandry practice, proprietary feed formula and disease prevention as the main objective. The use of natural herbal products to improve health of the chicken is also a part of disease management. In the event that requires medication, the withdrawal period of the medication will be strictly adhered to as recommended by manufacturers.
Each individual bird is tagged with a yellow ring bearing the words “GESING” and the phrase "no antibiotic residue". This yellow ring on the Gesing Naked Neck Chicken feet is easily recognizable and is a branding effort for the producer. The ring is an assurance to customer on producer’s quality products, thus allowing customer feedback for future improvements.
Gesing Naked Neck Chicken is reared in enclosed area to prevent contact with the outside. This is crucial especially during this period when the Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) is spreading fast. The disease has killed nearly 80 people, mostly in Asia, spread to the Middle East and onto Europe over the past year. With the yellow ring allows product traceability and a double protection and insurance for customer.
Toh Thye San Farm has also brought in Hua Cai Chicken, to provide consumers with more choices of healthy meat. Gesing Hua Cai Chicken is reared in the same way as Gesing Naked Neck Chicken. It is a different breed from the Naked Neck Chicken and can be differentiated by the orange band on its feet.
Gesing Chicken are produced and marketed with the assurance of: antibiotic residue fee, no added growth hormone, lower cholesterol level compared to white broiler and only healthy birds are marketed. Gesing Chicken has the following characteristics to meet customer’s current needs: lower cholesterol, meat is succulent, tender and not fatty. |
