Bonded
seals (also known as Dowty Seals or Washers) are based on a rectangular section
metal washer with a trapezoidal shaped ring of vulcanised rubber bonded to the
inside.
These are sealing
discs that seal threads and flange joints. The discs consist of a metallic ring
and a rubber sealing pad bonded together. Available in metric and inch
dimensions.
Often used as bolt seals in hydraulic equipment, today bonded
seals (commonly known as Dowty Seals) are finding usage in many and varied
applications throughout industry. All size ranges and material combinations are
available. This same basic concept can be used to produce customised shapes for
specific applications in any of the combinations of rubber to metal or plastic
bonding.
